North Arrow Stakes New Lithium Rich Pegmatite in Nunavut

March 31, 2009
North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR: TSXV) is pleased to announce the acquisition, by staking, of the McAvoy lithium pegmatite in the Torp Lake region of Nunavut and the expansion of the Phoenix lithium project, Northwest Territories.

The Company has staked two mineral claims totaling 4,958.4 acres to cover a known lithium rich pegmatite and surrounding prospective ground in the Torp Lake area of Nunavut. The Torp Lake area is located 30 km southwest of tidewater on the Arctic coast and 245 km east southeast of the Hamlet of Kugluktuk. Pegmatites in the Torp Lake area were investigated by the Geological Survey of Canada in the early 1990's. The McAvoy spodumene bearing pegmatite dike was described as being traceable for 200 m, with discontinuous outcrops suggesting that the dike may extend for as much as 400 m along strike. Observable portions of the pegmatite core were described as containing very large columnar crystals of spodumene attaining 1.5 m in length. Spodumene is a primary lithium-bearing silicate mineral. Assay results from a single grab sample of the McAvoy pegmatite are currently pending.

The Company is also pleased to report it has expanded, by staking, the Phoenix lithium project to 16,492 acres. The new staking has covered the remainder of the interpreted 'Phoenix intrusive complex' that is believed to host the Big Bird lithium rich pegmatite. The northwest trending Big Bird pegmatite is intermittently exposed over a strike length of over 1,200 m. A September 2008 mapping program defined observable widths in excess of 80 m. As previously reported (North Arrow news release #08-07, October 20, 2008), rock sawn channel samples were collected at ten outcrop locations returning from 0.57% Li2O to 3.13% Li2O over widths ranging from 1.00 m to 5.51 m. The weighted average sample assay from the channel sampling program was 1.63% Li2O.

North Arrow's exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of Gordon Clarke, P.Geol. (NT&NU), President and CEO for North Arrow and a qualified person under NI 43-101.
