North Arrow Reports Six Metres Grading 4.5% Li2O From Mcavoy Pegmatite, Nunavut

September 17, 2009

North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR: TSXV) is pleased to announce that channel sample results have confirmed high grade lithium mineralization within its wholly owned McAvoy pegmatite, Nunavut. Two rock sawn channel samples collected have returned 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O and 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O. The channels were located 78 m apart and oriented perpendicular to the north-south strike of the pegmatite, which can be traced over a minimum strike length of 400 m. Lithium is contained in the mineral spodumene, high concentrations of which are observable within the McAvoy pegmatite over a 110 m interval and widths of 10 to 15 m. The McAvoy pegmatite is located within North Arrow's Torp Lake project area, approximately 30 km southwest of tidewater on the Arctic coast and 245 km east southeast of the Hamlet of Kugluktuk.

Spodumene is a primary lithium silicate mineral containing a maximum lithium content of approximately 8.0% Li2O. Lithium grades reported for the McAvoy pegmatite therefore indicate the sampled area of the pegmatite contains approximately 40 to 50% spodumene. Typically, spodumene bearing pegmatites return grades in the 1.0 to 1.5% Li2O range. Testing the down dip and additional along strike potential of the McAvoy pegmatite will require a program of ground geophysics and drilling. Exploration plans will be drawn up for the spring 2010 exploration season.

Drill results for North Arrow's August drilling program on its 100% owned Phoenix lithium project, Northwest Territories are expected before the end of the month and will be reported once received. In the meantime North Arrow is currently gearing up for a prospecting, mapping, geophysical and drilling program on its North Carolina lithium properties. This work will begin in early October.

North Arrow's exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of Gordon Clarke, P.Geol. (NT&NU), Vice President, Exploration for North Arrow and a qualified person under NI 43-101. Initial sample preparation was carried out in Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd's, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories preparation lab with each sample crushed and a 250 g split collected. The crushed split was forwarded to Acme's Vancouver, British Columbia lab where it was pulverized to 200 mesh, split and a 5 gram sample collected. The sample was subjected to a four acid digestion and analysis for 40 elements using a combination of inductively coupled plasma (ICP) emission spectrometry and ICP mass spectrometry methods. Laboratory inserted duplicates and standards provided optimum precision and accuracy.
