The property is located approximately 5 km east of Yellowknife.

Size:
The Hay Duck property consists of eight claims totaling 20,331 acres.

Ownership:
100% North Arrow.

Highlights:
  • Property covers a 12 km strike extent of the mafic-ultramafic Hay Duck sill.
  • The property has been covered by a Fugro (MegaTem) airborne geophysical survey.
  • Follow up ground geophysical coverage of a co-incident magnetic and electromagnetic anomaly has outlined a significant overburden covered exploration target.
  • Project is immediately adjacent to the city of Yellowknife's existing infrastructure.

Summary:
The Hay Duck property is road accessible, consisting of eight claims totaling 4,857 hectares and located 5 km east of Yellowknife. The Hay Duck property covers a 12 km strike extent of the Duck Lake Intrusive Sheet, a Proterozoic mafic-ultramafic sill. In 1970, a 107 m drill hole was completed in a portion of the sill. The hole intersected 72.6 m of nickeliferous peridotite (serpentinized olivine ferro-gabbro) underlain by greywacke. The entire peridotite intersection was tested in 47 samples; of these, 43 assayed greater than 0.10% Ni and up to 0.26% Ni.

In September of 2007, a MegaTem electromagnetic and magnetic survey of the Hay Duck property was carried out by Fugro Airborne Surveys. A total of 30, nine kilometer long traverse lines were flown, with a spacing of 400 m between lines, and three tie lines were flown with a spacing of 3300 m between tie lines totaling 275 km for the complete survey. The dominant feature outlined by the magnetic survey is a linear roughly north south trending magnetic high related to the Hay Duck intrusive. Several other magnetic responses were also detected within the survey area. Significant conductive responses were also outlined. Of interest is a response in the southwestern portion of the survey area that is on the down dip side of the magnetic response attributed to the Hay Duck intrusive. Also of interest is a conductive response coincident with a linear magnetic feature located in the northwestern portion of the survey area. The magnetic and coincident electromagnetic response has a strike length of approximately 2.5 km, extending to the northern limit of the survey coverage.

In 2008, magnetic and electromagnetic ground geophysical surveys were carried out over the northwestern target. These surveys outlined a significant overburden covered exploration target that parallels the known sill. The target has co-incident total field magnetic and electromagnetic responses. The asymmetry of the electromagnetic response indicates a shallow dip to the east which makes the target intriguing as the dip of the local metasedimentary rock stratigraphy is near vertical.
