The Torp Lake Project is located approximately 30 km southwest of tidewater on the Arctic coast and 245 km east southeast of the Hamlet of Kugluktuk.

Size:
The Torp Lake Project consists of two mineral claims with a combined total of 4,958.4 acres.

Ownership:
100% North Arrow.

Highlights:
  • Project contains the McAvoy, lithium rich, spodumene bearing, pegmatite dike, identified by the Geological Survey of Canada in the late 1980's.
  • High concentrations of spodumene are observable within outcrop over a 110 m strike length and widths of 10 to 15 m.
  • Two rock sawn channel samples collected returned very high grades of 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O and 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O.
  • Low iron spodumene (white), potential for high quality product.
  • The potential for technical grade spodumene confirmed by a composite sample sent to SGS Canada Inc. for a high definition mineralogical analysis
Summary:

In August 2009, a channel sampling program was carried out on the McAvoy pegmatite. Two rock sawn channel samples collected returned 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O and 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O. The channels were located 78 m apart and oriented perpendicular to the north-south strike of the pegmatite. Lithium is contained in the mineral spodumene, high concentrations of which are observable within the McAvoy pegmatite over a 110 m interval and widths of 10 to 15 m. Testing the down dip and additional along strike potential of the McAvoy pegmatite will require a program of ground geophysics and drilling. Mineralogical analysis of a composite sample indicated excellent liberation of spodumene (99%) and microprobe analyses confirmed spodumene is clean of major elements, particularly iron and manganese. The McAvoy pegmatite is a potential source of premium priced, rare technical grade spodumene used in the glass, ceramic and metallurgical industries.

North Arrow Reports Mcavoy Pegmatite Represents a Potential Source for Technical Grade Spodumene

North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR: TSXV) is pleased to announce that a detailed mineralogical investigation of a composite sample from its wholly owned McAvoy lithium pegmatite has confirmed the high quality of spodumene mineralization at this locality. The McAvoy pegmatite is located within North Arrow's Torp Lake project area in Nunavut, approximately 30 km southwest of tidewater on the Arctic coast and 245 km east-southeast of the Hamlet of Kugluktuk.
