The Torp Lake Project is located approximately 30 km southwest of tidewater on the Arctic coast and 245 km east southeast of the Hamlet of Kugluktuk.

Size:
The Torp Lake Project consists of two mineral claims with a combined total of 4,958.4 acres.

Ownership:
100% North Arrow.

Highlights:
  • Project contains the McAvoy, lithium rich, spodumene bearing, pegmatite dike, identified by the Geological Survey of Canada in the late 1980's.
  • High concentrations of spodumene are observable within outcrop over a 110 m strike length and widths of 10 to 15 m.
  • Two rock sawn channel samples collected returned very high grades of 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O and 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O.
  • Low iron spodumene (white), potential for high quality product.
Summary:

In August 2009, a channel sampling program was carried out on the McAvoy pegmatite. Two rock sawn channel samples collected returned 6.0 m grading 4.5% Li2O and 7.0 m grading 3.3% Li2O. The channels were located 78 m apart and oriented perpendicular to the north-south strike of the pegmatite. Lithium is contained in the mineral spodumene, high concentrations of which are observable within the McAvoy pegmatite over a 110 m interval and widths of 10 to 15 m. Testing the down dip and additional along strike potential of the McAvoy pegmatite will require a program of ground geophysics and drilling. Plans will be drawn up for the 2010 exploration season.
